Plot:
Pyaas tells the story of three women – Malkin, her younger sister, and their Naukrani. The web series begins with the murder of Malkin. The police suspect the Naukrani of the murder and arrest her. However, as the investigation progresses, it becomes clear that the Naukrani is not the real culprit. As the web series unfolds, it is revealed that Malkin and her sister are not very nice to the Naukrani. Malkin is jealous of her younger sister’s closeness to the Naukrani and treats her poorly. The Naukrani, however, have a close relationship with the younger sister and they are in love. At the end of the web series, Sister is caught and arrested for the murder of her big sister and the Naukrani. The web series ends on a somber note, as the tragic consequences of the three women’s actions are realized. The web series explores themes of jealousy, love, and betrayal. It sheds light on the social hierarchy and power dynamics that exist in Indian households, where domestic help is often treated poorly and is at the mercy of their employers.
